Organization is very important in editing. It allows us to find things quickly, be more efficient, and get our work done faster so we can make it home in time for dinner with the family. Although every editor will want to organize their Avid project differently, I wanted to show you how I organize my projects for scripted TV shows.

The main idea is to set it up in a way that anyone can open your Avid project and easily navigate it to find what they are looking for.

If you are working with a new editor, try to ask them how they like their project organized before you start your gig. That way you are ready to go on your first day of dailies.
